This itinerary is in the Aiguilles Rouges mountain range, in the Flégère area. From the top of the Floria button lift, we skin up a slope (234 vertical metres) to the col des Crochues (2704m). The last 50m steep section is done on foot carrying skis. After the col there is a short ski down (250m) to the foot of a large gully that we will walk up to finish on a beautiful easy ridge that we will continue to ascend, roped up and with crampons on, to the top of the Pointe Alphonse Favre 2788m. You will love the view!
The ski down on the glacier du Mort is incredible!! There are several options (steep or easy). Finally, we will reach the vallon de Bérard where the snow is often excellent because it is North facing. A lovely run through the forest and we end up at the Buet village, comfortably sat in a deckchair enjoying a beer!
Bonus features: A wide exploration of the Aiguilles Rouges and a breathtaking view of the Mont-Blanc. Lovely long wide slopes of powder snow. The powder stays intact a long time after the last snowfall.
We will start our day at the top of the Grands Montets 3296m skiing nearly 800m down the glacier des rognons, reaching the Argentière glacier’s basin at around 2550m. After crossing over to the right bank we will arrive at the start of the itinerary up to the Col du Passon.
After a short and steep first section, we will skin up a long traverse (lower left ski) and finally reach the bottom of the Passon couloir. From there, skis on rucksacks and crampons on, we will head up the couloir roped up for about 150 m to reach the summit at 3028 m. The climb is nice and relatively easy.
From the col du Passon, we will ski down heading NW towards the village of Le Tour. The beautifully wide slopes and a perfect angle of steepness as well as the quality of the snow make this itinerary one of the most unmissable ski tours in the Mont-Blanc range!!
